"Fairfirst Netball Shines Bright: A-Division Runners- up at Mercantile Netball Knockout 2025"

The Fairfirst Insurance A-Division Netball Team proudly emerged as the runners-up in their debut A-Division season at the Mercantile Netball Knockout Tournament 2025, held from 18th to 20th October at the St. Joseph’s College Sports Complex.

The tournament featured some of the best teams in the corporate circuit, including Hatton National Bank, Citizen Development Business Finance, Seylan Bank, and the Philippine National Team as a guest participant. Fairfirst’s determined and talented side defeated Seylan Bank Women’s Team 56–53 to secure their position as the A-Division runners-up.

Led by Captain Lavangee Ranatunga, the team’s journey was marked by consistency, commitment, and strong teamwork. Supporting her were players Mareesha Fernando, Deepika Abeykoon, Hasitha Mendis, Idusha Perera, Dilki Sithara, Lithmi Bimsadi, Oshadi Jayalath, Lamini Atapattu, Samadhi Meegalla, and Shavindya Fernando. Under the guidance of Coach Ms P. D. N. Prasad, the team displayed exceptional skill and unity throughout the competition.
