Fairfirst Insurance Limited Sponsors the “F” Division T20 League Tournament 2026 for the Eighth Consecutive Year.

Mercantile Cricket Association “F” Division T20 League Tournament 2026 got underway on January 15 and concluded on February 15, and the finals will be decided later which will be played under lights at the CCC grounds in March.

Fairfirst Insurance Limited Sponsoring the tournament and contest for the Fairfirst Insurance Trophy for the eighth consecutive year and the media briefing was held at the MCA Legends Wing’ on February27 (Friday). This year for the tournament 24 teams are vying for the hohours and were pooled into four groups.

Speaking at the media briefing the President MCA Sirosha Gunatilake thanked CEO Fairfirst insurance Limited. Ravishankar Wickneswaran for coming forward and sponsoring MCA and looking forward to their support in future too.

Ravishankar Wickneswaran, CEO Fairfirst Insurance Limited said ‘that we are sponsoring the tournament for the past eight years and he is happy to sponsor the tournament in future too with MCA to promote mercantile cricket in Sri Lanka. and also said this is a good opportunity to support the young players to show their talents in future.’

In the Group “A”six teams which played are Softlogic Life, PABC, Metropolitan Group, Aitken Spence, Astron Limited and Mclarens Group.

Group “B” six teams vied for honours Emerchemie NB, . Hanad Plantation “B”, Ceylon Tobacco, Ranpath Group, Ansel Textiles and SAGT.

Group “C” six teams Commercial Bank, Camera Lk, Siam City Cement, Ansell Lanka, Empire Tea and MAS Active Biyagama.fought it out

Group “D” six teams are Commercial Credit, Attire Group, HNB Assurance, Gamma Pizza Craft, E. B. Creasy and Sitrek Group.

The tournament is conducted in two stages, the ‘League’ stage consisting 60 T20matches and the ‘Knock-Out’ stage, consisting 15 matches including the final.

The league stage commenced on January 15 concluded on February,15 and the ‘knock-out’ stage, will consist 15 matches and the pre quarter finals were played on February 21 and the Quarter finals on February 28 and the Semi Finals on March 7 and the finals planned to play on March 14 had to be postponed due to unavailability of CCC grounds to play under lights and it will be decided later.

The special awards are – Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Man of The Series and Man of the Final.
