{"id":766,"date":"2023-05-25T09:16:36","date_gmt":"2023-05-25T09:16:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fairfirst.lk\/journal\/?p=766"},"modified":"2023-05-25T09:20:32","modified_gmt":"2023-05-25T09:20:32","slug":"fairfirst-supports-the-mercantile-cricket-association-for-the-5th-successive-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fairfirst.lk\/journal\/fairfirst-supports-the-mercantile-cricket-association-for-the-5th-successive-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Fairfirst supports the Mercantile Cricket Association for the 5th successive year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fairfirst, a passionate advocate of Sri Lanka\u2019s sporting fraternity extends its support to the Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA) for the 5<sup>th<\/sup> consecutive year as the sponsor to the MCA \u201cF\u201d Division 25-Over League Tournament 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The tournament consisting of 31 teams pooled into 4 groups will battle it out for the Fairfirst Trophy which will be conducted in 02 stages; the \u201cleague\u201d stage, which is already underway will conclude on the 28<sup>th<\/sup> of March 2023; the \u201cKnock-out\u201d stage, the pre quarter finals on 01st &amp; 02nd April; the Quarter finals on 05th April, the Semi Finals on 09th April and the final on 22nd April at MCA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFairfirst is built on a culture that influences a sporting lifestyle. And playing our part in uplifting the sporting fraternity makes us feel proud that we\u2019re able to nurture young talent and influence them to grow their capabilities,\u201d stated Sandeep Gopal \u2013 CEO of Fairfirst Insurance. <\/p>\n<p>Sanjay Siriwardena \u2013 Chief Sales Officer added, \u201cWe have always been a passionate supporter of local talent. And supporting the MCA for the 5<sup>th<\/sup> successive year is one of those great opportunities for us to fuel and recognise sportsmanship within the local and corporate community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fairfirst have already made their presence felt as reigning champions \u2013 starting from 2018 they took part in the MCA G Division and emerged runners-up in the tournament; 2019 they were the F Division champions; 2022 they became the E-Division runners-up and wound up the year with a success story of becoming the Champions in the Premier League Tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Fairfirst Insurance serves individuals, businesses, and institutions across this beautiful island through a versatile workforce of 1400 spread across their comprehensive branch network, affinity partners and leading brokers in the market.
